Reno, unbeknownst to Sonic and the rest of the crew, comes from another dimension. In a bout with Sephiroth, Reno found himself teleported in the midst of battle, after being separated from Cloud, Tifa, Barret, Nanaki and Cait Sith, he and Vincent Valentine tried to take on Sephiroth head on. Sephiroth with his combat ability caught the two off guard and sliced open a portal with a high energy attack, then sent Reno and Vincent spiraling down through it.

"VINCENT THE STOVE'S ON FIRE!"

After becoming conscious again, Reno and Vincent find themselves in another universe, and on Kongo Bongo Island. Currently inhabited by Sonic The Hedgehog and Shadow The Hedgehog, called upon to protect the mysterious yet powerful Crystal Coconut. After slashing their way through the jungle for a few days, the duo find themselves in front of a Mcdonald's. Reno scoffs at the idea, but with no where else to go and no money, Vincent suggests they both get a job at Kongo Bongo's Mcdonald's.

Abilities

Adequate Hand-to-hand combat: Reno is able to rushdown his enemies and beat them down using a combo of punches, kicks and his Electromagnetic Baton
Electroburst: Leaps high into the air, then crashes down release a wave of electricity.
Flashfoot: Using a temporary boost of speed, Reno leaves a trail of lightning streaks through out the battlefield.
Pyramid: Binds enemies inside a electromagnetic pyramid until the structure is broken.
EM Shot: Shoots orbs of electricity at an enemy.
EM Mines Flails electromagnetic mines at enemies, they are stunned if shocked.
